4CED Announces New CEO

After performing a comprehensive national search, Four Corners Economic Development (4CED) has chosen a new CEO. Warren Unsicker, a Certified Economic Developer, brings over 10 years of experience in the economic development field to the position. His efforts have resulted in an entrepreneurial friendly atmosphere in his role at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. With the ever-changing political climate and volatility of the energy industry, Four Corners Economic Development knew it was imperative to position itself for innovation and forward thinking.

“With the challenges of increasing regulation and fluctuating prices in the energy industry, we continue to assist our local employers, diversify our industry base, and retool our workforce for jobs of the future,” stated Sally Burbridge.

As New Mexico’s first certified ACT Work Ready Community, San Juan County’s workforce is poised to take on the changing employment landscape supported by the area’s low cost of doing business, with affordable electricity, and ample water resources, the region is poised to attract new industries.

“I am excited to be a part of this thriving community as it is on a path to greatness. With its many assets, including its suite of business assistance programs, collaborative community partners, and low cost of doing business, I envision a transformation in its future,” said Unsicker.

He is joined by his wife, Nicci, an attorney who works with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and two children. He spends his free time camping, running, and spending time with his family.

Suspect Arrested after Sexual Assault

During the investigation, officers learned that a male and female who knew each other had been in the area of the disc golf course. Neither individual was a student or staff member of San Juan College. The female victim reported that an altercation occurred between her and the male, Tyson Saggboy. She reported that Saggboy battered her, removed her clothing, and strangled her before fleeing the scene.
