Man Killed after Motorcycle-Sheep Collision

The initial investigation indicated a 2000 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, driven by Robert Curt Wolf (57) of Arvada, CO, was traveling south on State Road 491 when his motorcycle struck a sheep in the roadway. Wolf was ejected from the motorcycle and transported by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital. Robert Curt Wolf succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced deceased by a Doctor.

From NM State Police:

On May 3, 2021 at approximately 12:54 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal motorcycle crash on State Road 491 near mile post 107, south of Shiprock, NM. 

The initial investigation indicated a 2000 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, driven by Robert Curt Wolf (57) of Arvada, CO, was traveling south on State Road 491 when his motorcycle struck a sheep in the roadway. Wolf was ejected from the motorcycle and transported by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital. Robert Curt Wolf succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced deceased by a Doctor.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the crash. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.

  • Police ID Suspect and Officers involved in Hines Rd. Shooting

    Upon arrival, officers observed a male and female walking who matched the provided descriptions. Officers gave commands for Leon Quintana (27) to place his hands on his head and walk backward toward them. During the encounter, Mr. Quintana hesitated and shifted his movements while officers continued giving commands. He then produced a firearm and fired a shot toward officers, striking an officer’s patrol car. A second shot was also fired.
