San Juan County Sheriff’s Office will obtain an arrest warrant for Aggravated Fleeing, for the driver of the green Dodge, who was identified as 35 year-old, Louie Salome Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM. Louie Sanchez appears to be a repeat offender who has been arrested and charged with numerous felonies to include multiple robberies, forgery, possession of methamphetamines and approximately four stolen motor vehicles.
From the San Juan Co. Sheriff's Office:On January 28, 2016, at approximately 0843 hours San Juan County Communications Authority notified local police units of two vehicles that were driving recklessly through Farmington running vehicles off of the road.
Deputies from San Juan County Sheriff’s Office located the two vehicles on U.S. 64 as they were leaving Farmington Westbound. As the deputies approached the vehicles one being a green Dodge truck and the other a red truck began to swerve side to side. They continued to weave in and out of traffic, running cars off of the road. Deputies got closer and the driver of the red truck braked hard trying to get the deputy to hit it.
The two trucks continued at a high rate of speed Westbound trying to stop the trucks. As the pursuit continued deputies were advised to discontinue the pursuit due to no units in front to attempt to slow or the stop the fleeing.
The green Dodge pulled off onto a dirt road and then backed up almost striking a New Mexico State Police Officer and Reserve Deputy. New Mexico State Police advised that they were now in pursuit of the green truck. With New Mexico State Police being by themselves deputies were allowed to continue to follow to assist State Police.
State Police were able to stopstick the green truck and as other units were getting close they no longer saw the red truck. The green truck continued to evade officer as it was now southbound out of Shiprock traveling towards Gallup. Navajo Police started to assist State Police when green truck crossed over the median and went head on with a civilian vehicle. The driver of the green truck attempted to gain access to the civilian’s vehicle as he was being surrounded by officers. (no injuries were reported from the wreck). The suspect then ran towards an open Navajo Police unit when he was tackled by Deputy Clark. The suspect was taken into custody and will be charged by New Mexico State Police.

An initial investigation shows that Louie Sanchez and another were involved in stealing the red truck from Albuquerque NM and the then stealing the green Dodge out of Farmington prior to the report of their driving. At this point the driver of the red truck has not been identified.
Deputy Clark was treated and released after receiving minor injuries from the physical altercation with Louie Sanchez.
