Police are searching for the suspect, described as being either Native American or Hispanic, 5’7”-5’9” with a husky build. He was wearing a black and white plaid jacket with a joker or clown design, dark color pants and may have been wearing glasses.

Farmington police responded to a shooting early Sunday morning. Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Monarch Street around 12:17 a.m. They learned a 31-year-old Farmington man was shot after confronting an individual who had broken into the garage. Prior to the shooting, the man was inside the residence visiting with the home owner’s girlfriend when they heard the garage door opening. The man went out to the garage and confronted the suspect who then ran off. The man followed the suspect south on Lauren Street and into an isolated walking trail. The suspect fired at the man, hitting him three times. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The man was shot in the wrist and both legs. He was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center and was treated for his injuries. He has since been released.
